The Texas Mile ... 3 Days, 1 Mile, No Speed Limit! 

A unique twice a year event that allows the USA's speed-freaks to really 'put the pedal to the metal' and find out just how quick their car can go over the mile-long track. The race is a standing start competition where anyone can enter in any vehicle.

The record speed from 2011 was 255mph and there were plenty of drivers hoping to go just that little better in 2012. The motto of the Texas mile is “Drive in your world, race in ours”.
