Rob Huff
Rob Huff like many other drivers started his junior career with Karting. He has had strong support from his father, whose company has been one of Rob’s main sponsors. Huff showed promise as a driver when he won the 2000 Formula Vauxhall Championship. But it was when he won the inaugural SEAT Cupra Challenge in 2003 that people really started to take notice. Since joining the RML Chevrolet Team in 2005 he has 7 WTCC wins to his name.

Big Moment
Huff turned heads when he won the 2003 Holiday Inn SEAT Cupra Championship after winning the first of two title deciding races at Thruxton circuit. Having led the Championship from the second round onwards he won the title on round nine, with a round to spare. Championship victory gave Rob the biggest prize in British motorsport - a works drive with SEAT UK in the 2004 FIA European Touring Car Championship. In 2005 he joined RML Chevrolet.

TV Show
Rob first appeared on Mobil 1 the Grid in Season 1 when we profiled the inaugural Morocco WTCC event in April 2009. We caught up with him again in February 2010 at the RML’s Test in Valencia, prior to the start of the 2010 season.

Quote
Our favourite quote of Rob’s really epitomizes his love for the sport.

We asked: What is your favorite race series to watch on TV?

Rob replied: “My favourite race series to watch on TV has got to be the touring cars of any country, really. I just love watching touring cars, always have done. It is what I watched growing up as a child on TV, and I have always found it so exciting, the cars are so close, bumper to bumper, obviously they get a little bit too close at some point. But for sure for me, it is the most exciting racing to watch”.

Top 5
We asked Rob some quick-fire questions and he gave the answers. Here’s one of our favourites.
We asked: What’s your favourite music to drive to?
Rob said: “When you’ve got a Corvette that has got 500 horsepower, you don’t listen to music, you just listen to the exhaust”.
